Tri-Tec 14 is an effective insect repellent for horses. The composition of Tri-Tec 14 combines the immediate action of natural pyrethrins with the longer-lasting effects of pyrethroids. For instance, Cypermethrin alters the permeability of nerve cell membranes, causing paralysis in insects, while Pyrethrin has an immediate anti-parasitic effect upon direct contact with parasites. Additionally, Tri tec 14 is completely safe for horses and even creates a sunscreen filter, providing extra protection. The only thing to avoid is spraying Tri-Tec 14 on the head, particularly towards the eyes, nose, and mouth, where it is advised to use a roll-on instead.
